Restoration of 20 % Job Qouta For Candidates of South Punjab (Special Zone)
Services quota of South Punjab (Special Zone Quota) has been restored by 20%.
Now the people of South Punjab (Under Developed Areas of Punjab) (Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan Division and Mianwali + Bhakkar District) have 20% reserved seats for Grade 16 and above scale.
The remaining 80% of the seats will be open competition.
The S & GAD Department has issued a notification to PPSC to implement the court order.
This quota was promised in the 1973 constitution but unfortunately it was implemented in 2018 and in June 2019 it was challenged and the implementation was stopped which has now been restored for the youth of South Punjab.

Pursuant to the powers conferred under rule 20 of the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment & Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974 read with section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 Government of the Punjab is pleased to direct that:
- The area compering Bahawalpur Division, Dera Ghazi Khan Division, Multan Division and District Bhakkar and District Mianwali of Sargodha Division in the Punjab shall constitute the ‘special zone’:
- eighty per cent of the vacancies in BS-16 and above shall filled in accordance with merit on all Punjab basis from amongst the persons domiciled in the Punjab; and
- twenty per cent of such vacancies shall be reserved for bona fide residents of the special zone:
Provided that of no suitable candidate is available from the special zone, the vacancies may be filled in the manner provided in clause (b).
