Government Employees Salary Increase Budget 2020-21 Pakistan
A special meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved a 10 per cent increase in salaries and pensions of government employees.
According to details, a special meeting of the Cabinet on budget was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan, in which Budget Papers and Finance Bill 2021 were presented.
The federal cabinet approved a major amendment to the Finance Bill 2021 and approved a 10 per cent increase in salaries and pensions of government employees, briefing the Prime Minister. Grants for successful youth programs, housing projects are being increased.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has announced a 25 percent increase in the salaries of provincial government employees.
- The increase will take effect from July 1.
- Besides, adhoc relief will also be given to the employees in the next budget.

A meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which the political and economic situation of the country was considered.
The Prime Minister was briefed on Corona epidemic and vaccination. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that corona vaccine would be administered without any discrimination. Corona also directed the implementation of SOPs.
The internal story of the meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by the prime minister has also come to light and sources said that the federal cabinet has given in-principle approval to increase the salaries of government employees.
According to sources, the salaries of 370,000 employees of grades one to 16 will be increased and the provinces will have to take care of the salaries of the employees of the provincial institutions.
It is learned that the federal cabinet will today consider the demand for pay hike by the government employees for which the employees’ grand alliance has called for a sit-in protest in front of the Parliament House on February 10.
In the meeting, Home Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed will propose a 40% increase in the salaries of the employees.
Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has assured that government will increase salaries of government employees in the next budget.
In Islamabad, chairing a meeting of All Government Employees Grand Alliance, he said that the government fully believes in the welfare of employees for which all facilities will be provided.
The Defence Minister said we have big hearts and will take special care of government employees in the upcoming budget.
He said disparity in salaries will be addressed and recommendations of pay and pension commission will soon be finalised, the government has formed pay and pension commission for the welfare of government employees, he added.
The final decision will be taken in consultation with the finance team.
